iPod Touch Tutorial #4 : Locking the screen orientation

You can easily lock the screen orientation in portrait to stop it flipping every time you move your hand, by following these steps:

1 : Screenshot 1 shows the iPod running the music player in portrait mode.

2 : Double-click on the home button. Screenshot 2 shows the apps icons exposed at the bottom of the screen.

3 : Swipe right as far as you can go. Screenshot 3 shows the music player controls and the screen orientation lock button.

4 : Touch the button to lock the orientation. Touch the music player app to hide the apps icons. Screenshot 4 shows the iPod running the music playing with the screen locked in portrait mode. Note the locked icon in the top right hand corner of the screen.

5 : Screenshot 5 shows a lock screen with the portrait lock icon lit.

6 : To reverse the process, repeat steps 2, 3 and 4. Touching the screen orientation lock button a second time will toggle off the lock and you will be back where you started.
